With the name that commands attention and a presence that demands admiration, Siamkelo “Sam the Black King” Kgomo  is taking the modelling industry by storm. Meet the small town boy with a big dream and an even bigger personality who is shaking the modelling industry one photoshoot at a time.

“I never thought I would do such big moves as a model because I wanted to study Sound Engineering back then when I was in high school”

Early Beginnings

Born and raised in Ikageng, Potchefstroom, Sam's modelling journey began in high school as part of the Trill Genic Gang. A chance encounter with a photographer from Black Sam led to his first photoshoot and sparked a passion that would drive him to succeed. This was when his journey of being Mr onCamera started.

While Sam doesn't have a single role model, he draws inspiration from his own creativity and surrounds himself with like-minded individuals. His drive stems from a desire to succeed and make a meaningful impact in the industry.

“I never thought I would  do such big moves as a model because I just wanted to study sound engineering back then when I was in high school. After I had some nice experience at my first Fashion Show at Matlosana and won my first Title as Mr Junior Talent Freak, I have never looked back but just trying to get more better gig on the industry”, says Siamkelo.

The aspiring model hopes to achieve more in the modelling industry. “I hope to sign with a reputable modelling agency and participate in international fashion show” Having a small talk with the Mondays, Sam briefed us that he simply loves the whole modelling industry from commercial, Runway and Editorial. “I actually love them all ey, because every sector has its own specific role that it plays”, Says Sam

Sam's personal style blends African and urban elements. Outside of modelling, he enjoys listening to live music, playing basketball, reading, and photography. With his full time hard work and hustle, Sam has bagged a collaboration with Art Tree, in which he gets to work with a few artists to sharpen their skills. The model hopes to work with big brands around South Africa before going international. Sam recognizes the rise of virtual and augmented reality, diversity, and inclusivity in the modelling industry. He stays updated through social media, networking, and attending industry events.

The industry is Def not an easy one but Sam seems to have a better way to tackle it down. The model shares that the only way to stay relevant and big! Is COLLABORATIONS, COLLABORATIONS, COLLABORATIONS and yes again COLLABORATIONS. The model is open to work with any upcoming artists or brands that are already well-known in the industry
