Read a Story from a Model Nkosisphile Matsebula

It all began with an interest in modelling; it's a story where curiosity leads. I used to use my phone as a camera to practice poses before photoshoots, and then it evolved to compiling videos to preserve memories and has slowly become a creative outlet. However, nowadays I am far more intentional, thanks to my understanding of the value of digital marketing and storytelling through quality content. ''

In the bustling busy city of Sandton where Nkosisphile Matshebula was born, but grew up in Eswatini, where was when her destiny and journey in modeling started.

The young, model, actress, and a content creator (22), started her modeling journey by simply using her camera to practice poses before photoshoots which this evolved into compiling videos of herself fiddling around her catwalk. Making videos was to preserve memories and become a creative outlet, according to her.

Already at the pinnacle of her profession, she has met scores of models auditioning and of course partnerships with big brands, namely; Maybelline , TTDEYE and Girl On Your Mind.

“Thank goodness I got to experiment for a while so I say this with confidence when I say Fashion, Beauty, and Lifestyle. With lifestyle, I learn so much about how I view the fleeting moments of my own life and I create that for my own memorial archive. Whereas Fashion and Beauty, I feel like is a place for 8-year-old me to play.”

The model says that as much as she definitely might take inspiration from trends that she feels apply to her, she certainly don’t create with the purpose of going viral or constantly appealing to trends, which there’s nothing wrong with It, but It is simply not in her prerogative, she is focused on creating value instead and authenticity to herself.

The definition of boss moves definitely fits her name, the model has walked a runway in New York for Miss Universe Canada’s Fashion line collaboration,

she also walked a runway in Cape town for Kalend for Fashion exhibition which was an amazing experience for her as she was part of the designers journey.

Speaking with the “Mondays” Nkosisphile said that just as when her journey began in 2022, the same year, she got a chance to commercialize for Darling hair of which, the Monday Magazine made an issue feature for her and she was also featured on Sensational magazine prior to that, and followed it with a Kalend (African Fashion brand) website photoshoot and runway exhibition.

The model continued to set her charts and expand her name, she did not only appear in big magazines and websites but she also bagged herself an acting appearances in Netflix shows including the One Piece live-action and A Jozi Love Story.

More recently a website shoot for an exciting new skincare brand (yet to launch).“Nothing beats being on set but I also enjoy the creative freedom creating content permits so, I get the best of both worlds”, says Nkosisphile.

What inspires Nkosisphile's fashion is pretty simple or rather say she has a creative thought for her own fashion taste, she often see fashion through the eyes of her younger self, therefore she finds herself drawn to chic outfits, from coquette styles, preppy core and even office core and even office core.

“I like to enjoy what I wear just from looking at it. When it comes to styling myself, I of course have many sources of inspiration mainly African women, my younger self, and stylish entrepreneurs so I often incorporate aspects of all of these and there’s a blend. Every now and then I might incorporate/experiment with something trendy.” Added Nkosisphile.

We all have our own way in preparing for our day, shoots, run, workouts but Nkosisphile's way is quite different. When asked how she prepares for her shoot she simply replied, “PINTEREST, PINTEREST, PINTEREST!”

In this way she treats herself as a mini-campaign and she’s the creative director, makes decisions then brief herself, she’s the model, she’s her own makeup artist, stylist and of course photographer, which is all her, its like living in her own beauty, bossy world.

I find "Public Figure" interesting, in my opinion, it is not from social media and notoriety alone but also from how one treats people. God calls us to be the salt of the earth, which means extending the kind of love that God has expressed to us, through acts of kindness and how we actually interact with people.
