Lethu Shongwe well known as “LE2” is a young music enthusiast, model and Actor who has always dreamt of making it in the entertainment industry. Growing up, music was always a significant part of his life. As a child, LE2 was the go-to DJ at family gatherings, curating playlists that showcased his diverse taste in music. This early love for music laid the foundation for what would eventually become a promising career.
However, the path to success was far from smooth. In his township, the harsh realities of gang activity, drug abuse, and a lack of resources took their toll on the music group he had joined.
“After taking a break from making music, I connected with a music producer named Kid Stizz on Social media, he shared some of his beats with me, and I chose one that inspired a feeling of positivity and uplifted my spirits” shared LE2.
This gave LE2 an opportunity for him to work on his first song. Encouraged by friends who recognized the potential of his new track, he took a leap of faith and submitted it to various radio stations. To his surprise, the song gained significant airplay, even being featured on StarFm, where it received overwhelming positive feedback from listeners.
LE2 made a name for him self after dropping his track having it to be ranked as number 1 for a circulation of two months on Primrose Malaza's Hip Hop Era show gaining him audience and relevance.Music is not his only talent. Yes LE2 is one, the aspiring artist and Actor that has worked with numerous famous actors on few soapies including Mac Loud AKA Scelo from Scandal soapie, Duma Jama from The Queen. This has been marked as a remarkable success for him paving his journey into the acting world.
LE2’s journey continued to soar as he crossed paths with actor and musician Mbulelo Katise, a collaboration that further solidified his place in the industry. Introduced by a mutual friend, LE2 found working with Mbulelo to be both inspiring and educational. Despite Mbulelo’s established reputation, he was remarkably down-to-earth, making the partnership not just fruitful but also comfortable.
As his single "Emaweni" gained traction, LE2 began to attract attention from promoters, securing performance opportunities and interviews that helped expand his fanbase. For LE2, connecting with his fans on a deeper level is paramount. He believes that authenticity is the key to building a loyal following, and he strives to share his genuine stories and emotions through his music.
The challenges LE2 faced along the way, including rejection from record labels and struggles to find his place in the industry, only served to strengthen his resolve. He views setbacks as opportunities for growth and remains committed to his craft, knowing that each obstacle brings him closer to his goals.
